Join us for a forum on the lessons learned from the sector’s work installing energy efficiency upgrades to date and get ideas on what you should consider when looking at installing solar or other energy efficiency improvements on your properties.
This session is designed to assist members in making informed decisions about implementing solar and other energy efficiency upgrades in their properties. It will also assist you in getting ready for future funding rounds.
The session will include:
- a presentation by Tom Graham from CHL on CHL’s experience of installing solar and split system air conditioners in a range of properties. Tom will identify what went well, what they would do differently next time, and why this is an important initiative for CHL.
- Alex Houlston from BOOMPower will present on their work with the community housing sector in assessing, tendering and procuring solar and batteries for the last VPF funding round. He will go over criteria for selecting properties for upgrades and the information CHOs need to gather about the property and from their tenants in order to develop a good quality business case (and funding application). Alex will also outline several options for CHOs interested in getting their properties assessed for solar or other energy efficiency upgrades.
- Jason Cox from the Australian Energy Foundation (previously the Moreland Energy Foundation) will give participants an overview of the different types of energy efficiency upgrades that could be considered, and how they can extend the benefits of solar
At the conclusion of the forum members are invited to stay for networking drinks and nibbles to celebrate our accomplishments to date and to network with other community housing organisations interested in implementing solar or other energy efficiency upgrades.
