Combining sessions on NDIS access and funding for tenancy supports, this full day course provides an overview of both the access and planning processes of the NDIS. It will assist housing workers in assessing whether their tenants would be eligible for an NDIS package, the types of supports that might be funded by the NDIS, and how they can assist tenants to get tenancy supports in their NDIS package.
Participants will discuss the role of the community housing worker in different contexts and get an overview of other support and service providers available to assist tenants in preparing an application for NDIS funding. They will practice writing a letter of support for an NDIS planning or review meeting, and discuss the language to use in writing to the NDIA about tenant support needs.
This course is suitable for:
- Front line staff interacting with community housing tenants
- Housing managers
