Our next session of Thinking About Growth will feature Common Equity’s Manager of Asset Management, Meg George, and Rhonan O’Brien, Managing Principal of design firm MODE, and will look at ways to think strategically about the ways you design and maintain social housing properties.
Meg will speak about how Common Equity take a strategic approach to asset management, and highlight ways that their methods could be applied to other community housing organisations.
With almost 35 years’ of experience across project types, Rhonan O’Brien, Managing Principal of MODE, believes in measuring a project’s success against a ‘triple bottom line’ of environmental, economic and social sustainability. Rhonan will speak about the opportunities that design guidelines present for the community housing sector, and how adopting them could assist organisations new to development to ensure they were building high quality, durable homes for their tenants. MODE is a fast growing, multi-disciplinary design practice, with eight studios across Australia and New Zealand. The practice employs over 150 talented designers across architecture, urban design, master planning, interior design, landscape architecture and graphic design.
